The Therapy Session
Dialogue comedy. Zita has tried everything. Now only professional help will do.
Sample concept · AW Insektenschutz
Concept and storyboard for AW Insektenschutz, a specialist for made-to-measure insect screens from Switzerland. First three ideas, then a decision, then every scene as an image. Production costs only come after that.
1 · The core idea
When the mosquito despairs, nobody needs to explain how good the screen is. The humour makes the message, the message makes the sale.
"The biggest compliment for your insect screen comes from the insects themselves."

2 · Three variants to choose from
Each variant with sequence, dialogue and key frames. The client chooses before a single image moves.

Dialogue comedy. Zita has tried everything. Now only professional help will do.

Epic cinema. So many windows are sealed that the insects have only one option left: emigrate.

Quiet emotion, from the customer's point of view. First the mosquito hunt at three in the morning. Three weeks later: window open, silence.
3 · The characters
Every character gets a character sheet with all views. That way Zita looks the same in scene 1 as in scene 10.

Cheeky, dramatic, takes everything personally. She never dies, she only fails. With maximum drama.

An old bumblebee with glasses, a knitted waistcoat and a fine Swiss watch. Precision matters to him.
4 · Sequence of the chosen variant
Excerpt from the concept. In the finished film the story grew to 60 seconds.
| Time | Scene |
|---|---|
| 0–3 s | Cosy practice, leather couch. Zita lies on it, dishevelled, tissue in hand. Dr. Brumm nods thoughtfully. |
| 3–9 s | Flashback: open window at night. Zita: "In the old days, doctor … I'd be at the buffet at three in the morning. All you can eat!" |
| 9–15 s | Zita: "Screens everywhere!" Dr. Brumm: "And how does that make you feel?" Zita: "HUNGRY!" |
| 15–21 s | The waiting room: fly, wasp, spider and stag beetle, each defeated by a different product. Window, door, light well. |
| 21–24 s | Proof of quality: Zita bounces off the almost invisible mesh. Behind it, a family eats with the window open. |
| 24–30 s | Finale: the butterfly lands on the mesh, the AW logo builds up. |
5 · The storyboard
With a start and end frame per shot. Whatever doesn't fit here gets changed. Without production costs.
